First Year and Ongoing Training:
Along with in-house training after you are newly hired, ongoing training in the years that follow is crucial in order to enhance the skills learned during your initial training, as well as to teach new concepts that will be utilized as you continue your career. The training provides theoretical background related to accounting concepts specific to JGR clients, as well as hands on experience in applying those concepts to situations you will see during field work. Training generally starts with basic instruction on how to complete tasks that managers and responsible accountants (RAs) will ask you to complete during your early years, like preparing loan amortization schedules, updating fixed asset schedules, rolling forward binders, rolling prior year data for tax projections, entering tax returns, etc. As you gain more experience, trainings will instruct on how to properly substantiate account balances and transactions, how to prepare and analyze contract schedules, and how to prepare financial statements. With further proficiency and experience, more intensive training will involve trouble shooting issues and high level analysis involving more complex situations.
