He is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Additionally, Ed is also very active in many construction related associations including Associated General Contractors of California (AGCC), the Surety Association of Northern California, and the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA). Ed is treasurer for the American Subcontractors Association of California and has served on the Safety Committee of the Engineering & Utility Contractors Association (EUCA). He is a past Chairman of the PKF International Task Force for Construction.
Christopher M. Haley, CPA - Tax Group
Chris is the Tax Partner at Johnston, Gremaux & Rossi, LLP. Chris has special expertise in real estate, accounting methods such as percent of completion, cash basis, change in accounting methods, and S Corporations and has been a valuable member of JGR since he joined our firm in 1988. Chris has written numerous articles that have been published in various publications. Jeff has been a valuable member of JGR, LLP since July of 1998. He manages the Construction Group along with Ed Lampe and works with contractors with sales ranging from 1 million to 100 million. He also leads the firm's marketing efforts.

Dan first came to JGR in September of 1997 where he started as a staff accountant and eventually worked his way up to a manager in the Mid-Market Group. Between 1997 and 1999, Dan passed all his exams with high marks and became a licensed CPA. In 2002, Dan began taking courses in pursuit of a Master’s Degree in Taxation, but after much consideration, decided to assist in anchoring the firm's Accounting & Auditing practice. Dan services audit, review, and compilation needs for Corporations as well as their annual income tax reporting. Dan specializes in Manufacturing, Professional Service, and Contractors, as well as servicing the income tax needs of their respective owners. Dan also heads the firm's practice in audits of Employee Benefit Plans. The firm has developed a solid niche in auditing Defined Contribution Plans (401(k), 403(b), Profit-Sharing Plans, Safe-Harbor Match Plans, and ESOP’s. Dan is involved in the AICPA’s Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center and is in tune with constantly changing trends, pronouncements, and focus of the auditing environment. Dan oversees the in-house training of new staff members and draws on the strengths of others within the firm to develop expertise. Dan likes to spend his free time enjoying the youth of his two young daughters. In addition, time permitting, he is committed to an athletic regimen that prepares him for various 10K, half marathon, and full marathon events in CA. Dan has a passion for snow skiing and is constantly wishing for early winter snow storms to get his skiing fix before tax season engulfs his time and energy. Adel Mitchell, CPA - Construction Group
Adel Mitchell is a manager with Johnston, Gremaux and Rossi, LLP. She is a graduate of California State University East Bay, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting.
Adel began her career while attending college working for a small local CPA firm. On graduation, she moved to an international firm in San Jose and spent two years auditing almost exclusively high-tech companies, then went on to a large regional firm for the next four years. Since then, along with working previously for JGR for seven years, Adel worked in private industry in internal audit, as an accounting manager, and most recently as a Controller for a medium sized Construction company. She returns to JGR after a three year absence.
Adel is a member of JGR's Auditing & Accounting committee, the California Society of CPA's, and serves on the Audit Committee for the local non-profit organization Save Mount Diablo. Adel prefers to spend much of her free time outdoors running, hiking, and traveling, as well as attending musicals, plays and concerts. Her most favorite thing is spending time with her two adult daughters and dog. Bryanna Nance, CPA - Construction Group
Bryanna Nance is a manager with Johnston, Gremaux, and Rossi, LLP. She is a graduate of Sonoma State University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting. She returns each year to Sonoma State to assist with recruiting new staff members.

Charlene Fuller, CPA - Tax Group
Charlene started as a staff accountant in 1997 with a local CPA firm specializing in construction-related clients. She assisted with many audits and reviews and became a licensed CPA in 2000 after successfully passing all four parts of the CPA exam. Charlene soon decided her specialty was taxation and has worked since 2000 in that area. She joined JGR as a tax manager specializing in individual tax in July 2013 after working with us the previous three tax seasons reviewing individual returns. Charlene is responsible for over 150 individual tax clients, meeting their needs for:
Charlene truly enjoys training and mentoring and is responsible for hiring, supervising and training all tax season per diem staff. Charlene is a member of the California Society of CPAs. She is also a member of JGR's tax committee. Charlene enjoys spending her free time with her family including her grandchildren who are the joy of her life. She also enjoys socializing on weekend outings with her RV group and seeing the world by land and by cruise ship, especially Italy, her favorite country so far.
Ellen Torres, EA - Estate & Trust Group
Ellen Torres graduated from Vassar College with a Bachelor of Arts. After she graduated, she decided to pursue a career in tax and became an enrolled agent, a federally authorized tax practitioner. She took upper division and graduate classes in taxation at California State University, East Bay. Ellen has extensive experience in individual income tax compliance and planning for high net worth individuals; estate and gift tax preparation and planning; and fiduciary income tax preparation. She works closely with clients, their investment advisors, estate planning attorneys, and professional Trustees to provide the best possible results for the client and ensure complex tax and estate planning strategies are implemented properly. Before joining the JGR team, Ellen worked at a boutique firm in San Francisco specializing in serving the tax needs of high net worth individuals, estates and trusts. Ellen is a member of the Tri-Valley Estate Planning Council board of directors, the Estate Planning Council of Diablo Valley, the East Bay Association of Enrolled Agents, NAEA, CSEA, and the California Society of CPAs. When she is not working, Ellen enjoys taking Pilates classes with her husband and spending time with her family, particularly her amazing granddaughter, Mara.
Kerri became a tax manager at JGR in the summer of 2005. She began her career at Deloitte & Touche in Columbus, Ohio and eventually transferred to their San Francisco office, spending a total of five and a half years with that firm, before spending an additional two years at Bay Area Regional/Local CPA firms. Kerri specializes in real estate, construction, and high-net worth individuals. She has considerable experience in partnership and S-Corporation taxation. Kerri has been involved in the planning and execution of the following:
Kerri is extensively involved in the in-house tax trainings of current and new staff members and is in charge of the training of all tax season per diem hires. Kerri is a member of the California Society of CPAs and the Ohio Society of CPAs, maintaining current CPA licenses in both states. She is also a member of JGR's tax committee and the human resources committee. Kerri likes to spend her free time traveling the world with her husband and rooting for her favorite Ohio collegiate and professional sports teams. Michael J. Smith, JD, MST, MBA, CPA/PFS - Tax Group
In addition to his 20 plus years in public accounting, Michael worked in the financial services industry for several years and was an executive with a national financial planning and wealth management firm. Michael was a senior consultant and provided comprehensive financial advisory services and investment management for high net-worth individuals and small businesses. Michael’s broad professional background provides unique insights to financial problem solving. He has enjoyed helping clients with a variety of important financial services including:
Michael is a member of the AICPA - Tax, Financial Planning, and Business Valuation Sections. He is also a member of the California Society of CPAs. Michael has several personal interests. He is a musician and operates a small recording studio in his home. Stephanie Kozlik is a graduate of Cal Poly- San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. Stephanie began her career in public accounting at RSM in San Francisco in 2009 working mostly on audited financial statements of financial institutions. Stephanie started at JGR in the tax department in 2012 when she moved to the Easy Bay and started her family. Stephanie assists her clients in various ways including:

Tara Schoennauer earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Management Science from the University of California, San Diego. She then earned a Professional Certificate of Accounting from the University of California, San Diego Extension. Tara began her career in public accounting in 2010. She has a background in both audit and tax. Tara has chosen to specialize in tax and is pursuing her Masters of Taxation from Golden Gate University. She specializes in partnership, corporate and individual income tax. Her areas of technical focus have been real estate, multistate activity, tax planning and high net worth individuals. Tara enjoys participating in the in-house tax trainings as well as networking and recruiting events. When she's not at work or studying, Tara is chasing around her two young sons, cooking, doing yoga, dancing or playing co-ed soccer. |
